Where to fish Lake Greenwood by boat
- Right off the bat, Buzzard Roost Dam is the single best location for boat fishing if you are after high-quality crappie and striped bass. You will ramps for your boat on either side of the lake, so whichever direction you drive in from you will be fine.
- Next, we have the Upper Railroad Trestle. If you head down Lake Greenwood you will find the railroad trestle that spans the lake. The brush piles here are where you can target catfish, crappie, bream and bass.
- Another spot you might like, depending on whether you like catfish or not, is Catfish Hole. You will find this between the Route 221 bridge and the lower railroad trestle – this area is great during the fall.
- Mid Lake Brush Pile is located near Banks Creek. Just outside of the entrance to this you will be able to find a grouping of brush piles that you will find make a great little spot. Largemouth bass, white perch, striped bass and catfish are the order of the day here.
- Next, Striper Ride Fishing. 10 bucks say you can’t figure out what this spot is known for… This may actually be challenging if you are a new angler. Getting the very most out of this spot means positioning your boat really well. For instance, you need to be sure your boat is facing down the lake so that Lighthouse Cove Pier is on your left. Cast on the ridge from here, you’ll do great.
Excellent fishing spots on a Greenwood Lake pier
- Lake Greenwood State Park Pier. This is a wooden pier sporting wooden benches and tables toward the front, and a paved road leads up to the pier.
- Lake Greenwood State Park Bank. This popular angling spot offers Instagram worthy photo views among the trees. You can find bass here when they move into shallower water.
- River Fork Fishing Pier. Greenwood Lake crosses through three different counties, and this pier sits in Laurens County. A public pier, this constructed from aluminium and is found adjacent to the River Fork Road Bridge. You will be able to target small perch and similar from here.
